Google and Samsung are under pressure from a Chinese brand that just announced an AI-powered armored smartphone, laptop and tablet.
While Samsung and Google have opened up their smartphones to AI, HONOR is following in their footsteps and going a little further with a slew of announcements at MWC.

HONOR holds an exhibition in Barcelona
At a global event organized on Sunday during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the Chinese company HONOR revealed its AI-focused strategy as well as several new products, including its latest Magic6 Pro smartphone. Until now, HONOR has marketed its new phone exclusively in China, but MWC marks the global launch of the Chinese brand's new flagship, which was sold by Huawei Technologies in November 2020 and is now owned by Shenzhen Zhixin New Information Technology Co. As with Google and Samsung, HONOR is relying on artificial intelligence to boost the flagging smartphone market.
To underline this desire, the company has integrated the open source language model LLaMA 2 into the HONOR Magic6 Pro: it can therefore handle tasks such as questions and answers, text generation and reading comprehension, even when offline. Moreover, artificial intelligence is also present in the technology capable of controlling the car thanks to the eye tracking system equipped in the brand's latest smartphones. As mentioned above, besides the Magic6 Pro, HONOR also took advantage of the Barcelona exhibition to launch two new products: MagicBook Pro 16 (laptop) and HONOR Pad 9 (tablet).

Let's talk about this laptop, it comes with an artificial intelligence feature that allows users to move applications such as messaging apps between different devices. “By leveraging the AI optimizations of the HONOR platform with advanced CPU and GPU, the HONOR MagicBook Pro 16 allows you to share notifications and sync documents between smartphones, PCs and HONOR tablets effortlessly thanks to MagicRing,” the manufacturer explains.
As for the HONOR Pad 9, it features a 12.1-inch HONOR FullView 2.5K display with a 120Hz refresh rate, an eight-speaker audio system that includes HONOR Histen sound adjustment and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chip. Loïc was able to test and preview at MWC (see video above).
